If I had a superpower...

If I had a superpower it would be flying, because I could fly anywhere, but more important, at least from my point of view, is that I wouldn't have to wait for the traffic. But even if I could, I probably wouldn't do it anyway for two reasons: First, I preffer to walk because I do excercise and I can talk with the person I am walking with, and second, I would't want to be seen while I fly, someone can see me, and all the press will talk about it and everybody will go crazy. But I still would like to fly.

New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (200 words project)

The topic of my project is the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, the main bands of this genre, its style and influence to the actual Heavy Metal and Hard Rock.

Frequently abbreviate as NWOBHM, it appeared in England at the ending of the 70's, it was mostly inspired in the hard rock of last decade, and bands like Led Zeppelin, Queen, Kiss, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Some of its main survivors are Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Diamond Head, Raven, Saxon, Grim Reaper, Tank and the recently extincted Samson.

The NWOBH had a decline as many other musical movements. Bands like Def Leppard move away from the genre towards the mainstream hard rock to increase the american market. Bands like Van Halen, Mötley Crüe and Guns N' Roses were found by many rock fans, and the faster and heavier Thrash Metal replace the british metal. However, Iron Maiden and Motörhead stayed with their original sound, earning a considerable and lasting success, besides the decline of their sound.

The NWOBHM was an important genre to the heavy metal and music, and influence the new genres that appeared sence the 80's, like the Trash Metal, influencing bands such as Metallica.
